Basic Allowance for Housing - FY 2008 rates of tax-free housing allowance (BAH) that are provided to military members (with and without dependents) who are authorized to reside off base at government expense.

Government Travel Card - Now you are the expert on how to properly manage government travel accounts.  Remember, it is a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) for members of the military to use a Government Travel Card for prohibited purposes (for more info see Lesson D), or to fail to make your payments in full and on time.

N@VY Knowledge Online, The Navy Knowledge Portal - If you're in the Navy and have not checked out what is available on NKO, you are seriously behind the power curve.  Get up to speed by getting an account now!  NKO accounts are available to Navy and Marine Corps: Active, Reserve, Civil Service, Delayed Entry Personnel, Naval Academy Midshipmen, Retired, and Retired Reserve. Sponsored users should register for a guest account.

Naval Education and Training Professional Development and Technology Center (NETPDTC) - Remember the good old days when you just used to go see the shipmate behind the ESO desk and get your courses handed to you on the spot...  Well guess what salty, if you want the NAVEDTRA manual now you will have to order it here!  This site provides student registrar functions to include enrollment, grading, reporting, and distribution of Nonresident Training Courses to Active Duty, Reserve, and Retired members of the U.S. Navy, USMC, and U.S. Coast Guard, and DoN Civilians.

Navy Advancement Center - This Web site is designed to help sailors prepare for advancement by providing the latest advancement information and requirements.  ESOs and Career Counselors will find a wealth of information they can use and more is being added.

Military Requirements Practice Exams - I don't know who created these, but they are awesome.  There are eight practice exams in all, that provide the correct answers and a grade at the end of each exam.  Thanks to AMC(AW/NAC) Scott George for sending them my way!  If you wish, you can download the HTML files in this zip and place them on your desktop, or just take them online by clicking the image above.

TRICARE - Benefit information for beneficiaries.  Learn all there is to know about your TRICARE benefit.  This is your gateway to the new, improved TRICARE Online for beneficiaries and military staff.  Authorized users can schedule & view appointments; access approved health content; access personal health information; use pharmacy tools; check medications; access military staff applications and much more!

DEERS Update - Beneficiaries may update their DEERS address, telephone number, and e-mail by visiting the DEERS Web site - this is the quick and easy way to update your information.

Navy Department Awards Web Services (NDAWS) - This website is the second phase of a multi-phased effort to provide customers with online access to Navy AWARDS information and help.  Future upgrades will enable additional improvements in the business of Navy personnel military and unit awards.

BUPERS Online - BUPERS Online is a single point of entry application for logging into numerous web-based applications maintained by the Naval Personel Command in Millington, TN.  As applications are added, you will login once, and then be able to pass from application to application without the need for multiple logins.

Hampton Roads Military Bases

Naval Air Station Oceana - The heartbeat of this vital and dynamic Master Jet Base is Air Operations.  Its pulse rate is measured by thousands of take-offs and landings each year. There are over seven miles of runway serving the station and transient military air traffic.

Naval Station Norfolk - This installation occupies about 4,300 acres of Hampton Roads real estate in a peninsula known as Sewells Point. It is the world's largest Naval Station; in fact, based on supported military population, it is the largest naval installation in the world.

Recreation

Discover MWR - The mission of Morale, Welfare & Recreation is to provide physical fitness, recreational food and beverage, child development programs in an efficient and responsible manner for all eligible patrons in the (Hampton Roads) Mid-Atlantic region.  Operations benefit individuals physical, emotional, social and mental well being, thereby, increasing satisfaction with military life contributing directly to Fleet readiness and retention.

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society - Founded in 1904, the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is a private non-profit charitable organization.
